New qualifications for the IU team
Independent Utilities (IU), the South West’s largest independent utilities consultancy, has delivered on one of its key pledges as part of its ongoing commitment to the Plymouth Better Together partnership.
The Millbay-based business focused on staff development by making a commitment to upskill our staff to at least NVQ level 2 status and work towards NVQ level 3 accreditation on core business skills.
Thanks to support from Acacia Training and Train to Gain all IU’s admin and sales staff have gained NVQ level 2’s in business administration and customer services and are now working towards level 3 status.
Commenting on the success of the initiative, IU Director Joedy Lawrence said; "Plymouth Better Together has helped us to develop our staff development policy for the benefit of everybody. Our staff are motivated by the challenge of learning new skills and in turn our customers benefit from those new skills on a daily basis. We would recommend that more businesses in Plymouth look into what’s on offer from the Plymouth Better Together partnership."
IU is a preferred partner of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and advises organisations throughout the region including Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Plymouth Albion Rugby Club and Duke of Cornwall Hotel.
